Anit Sah
About the Speaker
The perfect combination of an adventurer and an educator. At the age of 17, still in school, Anit became the youngest person in the world to be part of an Everest Expedition. The astonishing facts are that , singularly ill-provided with food and drink, without much oxygen, and absolutely alone with two of his friends gone to the maker, he climbed down 5000ft of a Himalyan giant which had over the years had claimed many lives. It is indeed an outstanding achievement by a single teen aged boy being in the long and yet unfinished history of mountaineering.
He started his work as an educator at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (Uttarkashi) and has climbed over 50 prominent Peaks in India and abroad. He has now also taken responsibility as Secretary of Nainital Mountaineering Club which he had joined as young climber at mere age of 7. He is always at forefront to help many more young and seasoned climbers of Nainital. His expertise goes also to the deepest seas as he is also a certified SCUBA instructor.
